It’s time for asking all those questions we usually do at this time of year. Like, can it really be Christmas again already? Just where did 2016 go? How am I going to have time to finish all my Christmas shopping? Will my wife like the replica pistol I bought her? If she doesn’t, will it look bad if I offer to take it off her hands?

A lot has happened to me in 2016. A low point was when the Pistol Place was taken off-line soon after it passed half a million hits. Which was pretty depressing. But then I started the World of Replica Air Pistols, which I believe looks better and I hope that the new format makes it easier to find the stuff you want to read.

I also started Mystery Ink in 2016 (you’ll see links to some recent Mystery Ink articles on the right) where I try to apply logic and common sense to investigating some of the world’s best known mysteries. If you haven’t tried it yet, click one of the links. The articles are long, but I hope you’ll think they’re worth reading. And it has to better than watching The Great Escape again or all those Wallace and Grommit re-runs…
What’s planned for 2017 for the World of Replica Air Pistol? More of the same. More reviews, more articles, more stuff. If you want to contribute a review, an article or just send me pictures of your pride and joy, get in touch. I’m always delighted to hear from readers.
This year I’m taking a break over Christmas and New Year from 23rd December to 3rd January. Part of the time, I’ll be working in a home for retired elephants near the River Kwai in Thailand (no, really!). In fact, I believe that my Christmas Day will involve preparing Christmas lunch for a large group of elephants. Which will be, er, different.

I’ll be back in 2017 with more reviews and articles. In the meantime, wherever you are and however you celebrate the festive season, I hope that you have a happy, peaceful and relaxing Christmas and a prosperous and enjoyable New Year in 2017.
See you all next year.
